We’ve been working on this one for a while with our good friends Billabong and Corona and are stoked to finally announce The Salt Circus! We’re inviting you and other like minded individuals to join us at Tay Street beach (Mt Maunganui) on April 9 to show, tell and experience various surf crafts from the past. Turn up with your old surfboard collection and enjoy a coffee on us thanks to Allpress. Tyler Warren (California) and Dave Rastovich (Australia) will be on site to show off their unique crafts and talk fibreglass.
We will be holding a ‘fun’ event featuring Log and Retro divisions, $10 entry fee on the day with the winners taking home a new Tyler Warren shaped surfboard.
Board criteria
Log / Traditional style, single fin only, no performance boards. Length is nine-foot minimum. Leashes are not to be worn.
Retro / Singles, twins, twinzers, Bonzers. Sorry no modern day thrusters, quads or Asian pop outs.
All boards are subject to inspection for authenticity at the judges discretion. There will be plenty of craft on hand you can borrow!!
