As a small pacific nation with our roots deeply connected to the native forefathers of surfing and an infinite coastline, New Zealand is a country of surf enthusiasts and ocean lovers. In order to keep the surf masses happy across our small coastal communities, we are pleased to announce the launch of the third annual O’Neill Aotearoa Surf Film Festival for 2015 with an open call for film submissions to national and international surf filmmakers. O’Neill continues its long-term naming rights and festival partnership with ASFF to help bring surf cinema to New Zealanders.
The third annual ASFF event will commence in March 2015 and will run in true kiwi style, taking a curated selection of international surf feature films, documentaries and short films on a summer roadtrip to coastal towns celebrating the best of surf culture, surf cinema and our connection with the environment.
CALLING ALL SURF FILMMAKERS FOR SUBMISSIONS
We have officially opened up the call for submissions to the festival and we encourage surf filmmakers from around the world to enter the festival competition. Submissions are now open through till Monday, December 20th, 2014. So get your film in today!
Please visit www.asff.co.nz for all entry details.
For 2015 ASFF has a $5,000 prize pool for filmmakers. A new category has also been established to assist local filmmakers with the best New Zealand made film taking away $1,000 cash and prize pack.
Submitted films will be judging by the festival screening panel consisting of Craig Levers, Gavin Bisman, Andrew McAlpine and Danny Clayton.
In the mean time check out the ASFF Facebook and Twitter pages to keep up to date on all festival announcements.
We hope to see you all at the festival in March!
