Obey paste up

Romeo Trinidad Jr. from OBEY dropped into Auckland over the weekend to do some paste ups, DGZ stopped by Custom teez Manakau to capture some of the action and ask Romeo what good oil keeps OBEY truckin.

Romeo told DGZ that OBEY is about keeping it core, a bunch of mates working together, creating and collaborating on art based projects that stay true to founder Shepard Fairey’s original vision.

Originally incepted in 1989, OBEY was as a street art & sticker campaign called ‘ANDRE THE GIANT HAS A POSSE’. Created by Shepard Fairey and distributed across the streets of America by the artist & the skate community. It wasn’t long before OBEY & the ‘Posse’ had became an international movement that has taken over the walls of almost every major city around the world.
