I met Scott as I was in the final phase of my editorship at NZ Surfing Magazine, 2008. My deal always was (and it always will be) to actively encourage up and coming photographers – it’s the right thing to do. But it’s also strategic; the more talent you nurture the more depth and value your readers have. But just being real blunt, you have to suffer the tyre tappers too. Sinton however, is no tyre tapper. He’s the real deal. His mum baked me a banana cake for that first meeting, that’s impressively old school manners. It was a good cake too.
