Skip James has a lot of names. A name for every thing he’s good at; Pretty good at surfing old Skip. Not bad on the old Guitar is old Skivington. Wow neat art, who is this guy… Slomo Jivinhug?? Still asleep on my couch, that Skerpes. See? There’s no doubt he’s a talented man, a renaissance man even, and not just because of his russian-ass, Rasputin beard and silly hat. He possesses ( WHAT!? I’ve never, ever written that word before. I just about broke the s button on my keyboard! WHAT??) a lexicographic knowledge and indeed, database of good music. Getting some tunes off his hard drive is an ordeal that can take anywhere up to four days, during which old Snoozy has about 10 showers and no less that 80hrs of sleep, and forgets why you’re in his room several times, but you end up with shiz that will blow your mind, and make your itunes look cooler than you for years. True story, I was hummin’ a tune of a song I’d just got off him, by this band Dead Moon, and this chick I was hanging with was like, ” WHAT, that’s my favourite song ever! ” then she added me on facebook. CHURR Skip!!
